Strategic Clusters

In terms of growth, a question that is so much talked lately, and paramount to the future of Portugal, in addition to the need to increase exports, an issue that leaves no doubt.That is, to a sustainable Portuguese economic growth, meaningful and lasting, is required much more than simply promote the growth of exports. Or rather, is required much more than saying that it is necessary to increase exports, because this notion is a bit too generic.In addition to other factors, an issue that could boost the economy, stimulate and promote growth, with prospects for medium / long-term, would be the creation of innovative clusters in emerging areas. For example a cluster of electric cars and a cluster of renewable energy.For the cluster of electric cars, already exists in Portugal at least one advanced design, and potentially serious, the case of Mobic, developed in Maia, near Oporto. But there is more potential for this area, not only in terms of development and innovation, areas where we are strong enough in Portugal but also in areas complementary to electric cars. Not only in terms of energy supply solutions, service stations for electricity, batteries and other, which can developed projects and partnerships involving innovation centers, concessionaires of highways, roads, manufacturers of automotive, etc. Industrial cluster can be created in additional areas of the country, creating jobs and business opportunities domestically, but mainly by creating conditions for a competitive internationalization.In relation to renewable energy cluster, we are a reference country in this area and taking advantage of these statuses, we can do more, promote and encourage the development of this area in Portugal, both in terms of technology, as well as at the material, but also in the development of structures, assembly and construction. While we installed on our territory, we can also test, enhance, maximize, and show how they work to a market that is basically the rest of the world.
