Sustainable Companies: An issue for discussion

One thing that's on my mind, around sustainability issues, is about companies that a very high sustainability status, but having some internal problems.
Giving a simple example, imagine a company that has a very good sustainability status, a company praised for their efforts towards sustainability, even with some awards, but with very deep financial problems. A kind of financial problems that puts the company in a very hard spot, and therefore the whole structure, the whole workforce, every stakeholder.
In the end, is it a company like this be considered a sustainable company? Is it such a good example for sustainability?
I will develop more the subject, but for now to discuss.
